6 Days of Summer Outfits

So happy it's the weekend! Below is a quick Instagram round up of six days worth of outfits. A lot of them are work outfits (since that is where I spend most of my time... but I added a super cute floral matching shorts and blouse set - in love!)

I have bought all the drapey pants Banana Republic has to offer. These green ones are so perfect for summer! For those who are afraid to wear color, especially green, I have some great way to match it.

1. Navy (of course - as seen below) - I wore my outfit with a peter pan collar shirt and my favorite Tory Burch navy cardigan. Navy is a perfect combination with green.

2. Leopard - Leopard goes with so many colors yet people often think it only matches with neutrals only. Green and leopard mixed is the perfect combination. 

3. Black and White/Cream - Very common and very sleek. These colors match with everything and green is no exception!

Going nautical is a typical once a week look for me. This is a pretty simple outfit from LOFT and J Crew Factory. Navy and red is a classic combination that looks great with everything and anything.

I love this Burberry shirt. Trick of the trade: it's actually a boys size 14. Being petite and small, I often wear children designer wear. It's so much cheaper than the adult version and no one can ever tell! It's a little tough to button the buttons since men/boys shirts have them on opposite sides.. but the price is so worth it.

Favorite outfit of the week alert! I am obsessed with matching sets. Crop tops, shirts, skirts, shorts, you name it... This isn't 100% matching, but I love mixing patterns (if you couldn't tell), and especially floral! I got this entire outfit from ZARA and they are all on SALE!

More Clover Canyon for the summer! They have a lot of neoprene/spandex dresses, but they also have a lot of light dresses that hold up well in the summer heat. Paired with my Tory Burch crossbody (turned clutch)... take off the cardigan and this outfit transforms from day to night.

7 Days of Outfits!

At last, my outfit round-up for the week! 7 days of work and casual attire. A lot of these outfits are older and from last season, so I will try to my best to post similar styles.

My first outfit is from one my favorite spring/summer designer; Yumi Kim. You can buy some her items in department stores and local boutiques. This dress is from last season, but I love florals and tan mixed together. It looks very country/western and matches so well. The sandals were the biggest steal ever! $25 Kate Spade Saturday cognac heels. Got them from TJ Maxx.. I assume they were liquidation leftovers.

I really wish I could find this long cardigan again. I bought it 4 years ago from Ann Taylor in about three different colors. They are so soft and comfortable. I linked a similar long cardigan, but the color is a tad darker. Most of the rest of the pieces are sold out, but this outfit can be recreated to be pretty similar!

I bought these shorts yesterday for Ivy & Leo at downtown (uptown) Charlotte. I can't really link it, but I recommend calling the Ivy & Leo's around you or the one in Charlotte to see if they have these shorts available. It's a pull on and incredibly comfortable! I love pattern mixing, so this is another example on where you don't have to thoroughly think it through. Just mix the colors and the patterns will follow.

More pattern mixing! Stripes and Floral! J Crew Factory has great floral shorts. These are from a year ago, but similar floral prints are available everywhere. If you are new to mixing patterns, I recommend mix patterns with stripes. Great combination and looks amazing all the time.

Outfit for Days! (.....and this week)

How is everyone surviving the heat? It has been crazy down here. Times like these, I wish I just lived up north.

My round-up this week has basically everything! Pattern mixing, crop tops, matching sets, work attire, neons... you name it!

The outfit below is actually my favorite this week. I found these items in my closet, and thought, why not mix these together. I love mixing different patterns. It limits the need for heavy accessories, but looks so put together. My top is actually an old Mara Hoffman from last season. I am obsessed with all of her clothing. Her and Clover Canyon really win with prints. I paired it with my favorite Banana Republic drapey pants. It felt so comfortable to wear all day for work and great after work as well! Since both the tank and the pants had some black mixed in with the prints, I thought it really brought the outfit together.

This cobalt tank is from LOFT. They really hit the mark with nice tanks. Not to mention a lot of their clothing always go on sale! I paired it with some white pants and gladiator heels. 

I mixed in a lot of my favorite bracelets to jazz it up for a night out on the own. My Rebecca Minkoff crossbody seems to be in everyone's closet these days. I absolutely love this color and the studs on the bottom. It's so trendy, yet boho chic. It's also on sale! Great steal!

Perfect conservative work attire! The grey ankle pants are actually my favorite style (sloan) from Banana Republic. Pair with a cream top, sweater (or blazer), and a great pendant necklace.

Clover Canyon strikes! again. Like I said, they have great prints! A lot of garden, outdoor prints...but also mixed with tons of florals! My favorite!

The outfits run a little pricey, but I usually wait for a sale (SAKS, Clover Canyon, Revolve Clothing, Neimans... on occasion, all have this brand on sale) I wore this dress with my fuchsia pumps from Barneys. Perfectly matched!

The best part of this outfit is that you don't need crazy accessories. The printed dress speaks for itself, and the hot pink pumps are your accessory. Sometimes there is no need to go overboard! The outfit really speaks for itself.

Neons are so much fun during the summer! I got these trousers from J Crew Factory on super sale. They look awesome paired with cobalt, hot pink, black, etc... I paired this outfit with leopard pumps. It may look a little crazy, but the leopard to me actually acts as more of a neutral with this outfit.

Monday night I went to the Taylor Swift concert. It was amazing! I know she's a super fan of crop tops, so I decided to wear my favorite crop top outfit.

Which brings me to my second obsession, matching sets! I love matching sets these days. Tops with skirts or shorts with the same print look so great all throughout the year! This outfit is from Bloomingdales and is incredibly comfortable! Since I'm 5'1'', the crop top doesn't "crop" till I raise my arms, etc... but it's still super cute (and super slimming)

Last outfit of the week is my Lilly Pulitzer summer go-to dress. I throw this on for almost all occasions. It's actually a "big girl" XL. Sometimes being petite has it's perks. However, it's still a little short on me, so I wouldn't really wear it to work. It can also function as a great beach cover-up.

Cobalt & Black

I love cobalt & black as much as I love cobalt & white. It's a great color combo. I wore this outfit two ways. One with peeped-toe booties and one with sandals.

My favorite piece to this outfit is my pineapple ring! Isn't is cute? Pineapples seem to be a continuous trend these days. I love adding a bit of color with this ring and my staple Kendra Scott Rayne necklace.

Hump Day Fashion Roundup!

Sorry for the late posts! I have been so busy at work that I haven't had the time to update the blog. I just wanted to post a round-up of everything I have worn this week.

I wanted to start off by saying that my floral maxi dress from the wedding I attended Sunday is unfortunately sold out. Whomp whomp. I got it from Asos and recommend checking that site periodically to see what pops up. This dress was around $400 and I got it for $87! Constantly checking websites is a great idea to find fashion steals!

My first outfit is a dress I recently purchased at Forever 21 with a multitude of accessories. To be honest, i don't wear a lot of rings, so I like to buy cheap cocktail and midi rings because it's not an investment piece in my eyes. This dress is so comfortable and can be worn casually with sandals or dressed up with a blazer.

This top is actually super old from Zara. I love the peter pan collar and print. So cute! The biggest star with this outfit is my Zara leather jacket. A leather jacket is a such a great staple piece! I recommend getting a moto style one as it gives outfits that edgy look. But it's really all preference!

Garden of Eden

I have shared my love for Mara Hoffman in a previous post as my go-to brand for purchasing outfits with colorful print. I wanted to share my other favorite brand for prints: Clover Canyon. Clover Canyon, delivered and produced in Los Angeles have great fabric with colorful prints.

The dress I have on is from last season, but the website has so many similar prints and options. It's great to wear to work since a lot of their dresses have less spandex than Mara Hoffman. The garden print is so gorgeous and colorful on. I think Mindy Kaling wore the same print in a different style before.

Fashion Roundup

If you all couldn't tell, I love all the Kendra Scott Rayne Necklaces. Kendra Scott does something genius on their site.... almost all of their jewelry can be custom-made with a different colored gem and base (gold/silver). It's genius, and it allows someone picky like me to design my own necklace!

My first outfit is by Mara Hoffman. If you haven't heard of Mara Hoffman, you must! All of her clothing feature colorful, tribal prints, which are perfect for the spring and summer months. This dress is from last years collection, but her website (as well as Bloomingdales and Nordstroms) carry her clothing. Each and every piece has personality!

I have worn a variation of this outfit below before, but I am so obsessed with pastel blue. It's the perfect color of this season and looks great with practically everything! It's actually a great look with or without the cardigan (I had to wear one because of work dress codes). The pink really makes this outfit pop, and my Vince Camuto caged heels are so comfortable. Floral Power!

Is anyone else as ready for the weekend as I am? One more day!!

Today's look highlights how floral print can be work appropriate! It's my favorite to wear during the spring and summer months (gingham is a close second!) A great trend is mixing floral prints together. However, since I work in the world of conservative accounting, I pair my floral with a neutral color.

This skirt is actually from LOFT and quickly getting purchased with all their recent sales. I wore my outfit with a blazer, but you can pair it with a cardigan or nothing at all! It's about 80 degrees in Charlotte, and I will tell you one thing.... that blazer gets super hot! For a "going out" look, pair this outfit with a leather jacket, ankle strap sandals and/or caged booties.

I ended up wearing a boyfriend fitted blazer (much more looser) than the Express one. Felt a little lazy and paired it with my Sally Wedges from Tory Burch. Gives it a relaxed look, but still work appropriate. The heel height on the Sally's are perfect! I own them in tan too.

Also decided to wear my Kendra Scott Rayne Necklace. I have it white and pink now, and it is so versatile. If you have been reading trends, the delicate necklaces and statement pendants are making a comeback!

Business Attire - with a pop of color!

I am sure you have all noticed how most of my outfits these days are work appropriate. The next two outfits pictured is a perfect example of how a pop of color can go a long way. Being "office professional" doesn't mean black suit and white button down anymore. It's springtime and I love the fact that I can incorporate color into my work wardrobe.

I love colorful pants. The Banana Republic Sloan Pants are my absolute go-to (the winnie/minnie J Crew pants are a close second). They are so comfortable, but look so sleek! I have sung their praises when writing previous blog posts, so I won't bore you all with the details. These purple pants are still available on the site. There are always sales at Banana Republic, so don't feel obligated to buy these full price.

I wear a Petite 00, to get the perfect fit. If you are petite, tall, regular, this pair of slacks are for you!

My other outfit is more professional. Great for an interview when you have to be slightly conservative. The green top is an old silk blouse from Ann Taylor, and looks so classy with the black suit. Wearing a delicate gold/silver chain and studs are recommended to keep the look clean.

During a professional interview, I don't recommend wearing prints. It's just too loud and may distract interviewers. Stick with solid colors. Jeweled tones and/or pastels look great with a suit. I prefer to wear a black suit during interviews, but navy and grey are also appropriate.

Color Blocking for Spring

Remember when color blocking was super in about two years ago? Well I'm still not over it. I love mixing magenta/orange during the spring time. The colors just pop and it's so bright and festive with the warm temperature.

Other colors I love mixing: blue/green, blue/orange, yellow/blue. Below is a photo (courtesy of google.com) from an old Gucci runway show and the other image below is from style.com. Trends change all the time, but you can still mix old trends with new trends.

My top is actually from J Crew Factory and comes in cobalt and neon yellow (so in right now). The pink and cobalt is sold out (whomp whomp), but I posted a similar tank for you all.

Today's look is very spring and post-Easter with a lot of light blue. Obviously, I am addicted to my new Kendra Scott necklace, and want to wear it with practically everything!

Lace: A More Romantic Look

Hey guys -

I am so pumped that it is almost Friday! My look today is more "romantic" and work appropriate. Target has recently been getting in some amazing pieces. A lot of floral, lace and chambray! Great staple pieces for the spring. I found this top a few weeks ago for $22.99. Great deal!

Sorry for not finding the exact replica of my cardigan. It's about 4-5 years old! I do want to point out that Loft is having a 40% off sale! I just stocked up on work basics and you may find something similar to this cardigan.

My Tory Burch wedges are my go-to shoes for when I want to remain dressy but don't want to wear high heels or flats. They are incredibly comfortable and well worth the $265 price tag (although I would wait till Friends and Family sales to purchase)

I wear my Banana Republic Sloan Pants everywhere. As a petite person, I really hate flared pants! They completely drown my look and are not flattering on me at all. These pants are a tad stretchy and look so tapered and put together for work. I own them in almost every color they offer. It's also rare to find petite clothing that fits me well, but Banana Republic masters that.
